FAQ’s:

Because change takes time! Although you’ll learn how to teach certain skills during a session, the real progress comes with repetition and practise. Booking in for a number of sessions means that you get continued support as you work with your dog, helping you build on the foundations and tackle any roadblocks you might hit along the way. You’ll also often need to work on a few things simultaneously in order to achieve your goals, so training packages provide the structure that help you get to where you want to be.

Every dog (and every human) is an individual. They have their own personalities, quirks and behaviours, and you have your own lifestyle and needs too. The best way for me to build a successful training plan is to really understand you and your dog, so that I can give you the best support possible. Don’t worry though - we will still discuss some training techniques and you’ll have things to practise after I leave!
I do also occasionally meet clients who I think would benefit from the help of a different professional, either instead of or alongside my services - for example a vet, or a qualified behaviourist. An assessment session allows me to identify this and discuss my thoughts with you, and help connect you with someone relevant if I can. In the rare event that I don’t think I can support a client beyond the assessment session, I will refund the cost of the additional sessions from the total you’ve paid.

The mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of every dog is at the centre of my work. I only train using up to date, science-led, compassionate methods, and do not endorse the use of any training methods, tools or equipment which may cause pain, fear, or anxiety. I look at your dog as a whole being, taking their health, breed, personality, preferences and - above all - their wellbeing, in to account in order to choose training concepts and skills which will help them flourish.

Before we start working together we will have a quick chat by phone or email to get a better idea of what you and your dog need, and how many sessions we think would be beneficial. If we finish a training package together and you still think you could do with more support, or there’s something extra you’d like to look at, I offer additional single sessions to current clients at a cost of £65 an hour.
Clients who have completed a Puppy or New Dog Package are also offered a £20 discount on Skills Boosters for 12 months after our last session.
